Village of Wheeling Bisnow Event Exploring Chicago's Northern Suburbs

For the second year in-a-row, Wheeling hosted Bisnow's "Exploring Chicago's Northern Suburbs" event on November 6, 2025, attracting over 150 attendees to Saranello's Restaurant & Banquet, a Lettuce Entertain You restaurant. The audience represented a vast array of professionals in the real estate industry, including developers, investors, commercial real estate brokers, banking executives, attorneys, and economic development leaders (local and international).

Village President Patrick Horcher addressed the audience, welcoming business leaders and investors to explore Wheeling and consider bringing their business or development to Wheeling. Economic Development Director Len Becker served as the moderator for the panel, "The State of the Suburbs," which offered insight into the changing economic landscape of Chicago's Northern Suburbs - whether it's new developments, redevelopments, reimagined work spaces, or public/private partnerships.

The northern suburbs have also created more amenities and welcomed new restaurants, luxury residences, parks, and more - all pivotal in attracting new residents, businesses and investments. These themes were discussed in great detail in the panel, "Designing Destinations in Retail, Mixed Use, and Multifamily."

Overall, density as well as low-interest financing options are key into bringing vibrant developments to Chicago's northern suburbs. The region, which is home to millions, continues to evolve, thrive, and prosper.
